November/ December Reflection

My favorite thing that we did in November and December was the ePals project. This project demonstrated decision making, collaboration, and research fluency. You had to decide what you wanted to do and then work with your group to complete the task. Also, you had to be able to research the information to complete the project.

While doing this project I learned a lot about how to treat water to make it safe to drink. I was amazed at how many waterborne diseases there are. It was shocking to learn the annual death rates due to the diseases. This project was a fascinating and eye opening activity. I am most proud of the fact that I did so much of the work on the project. I had the opportunity to learn more than I would have by just doing a portion of the work. I am very happy with the work that I did on the project. I feel that it was complete and met all the criteria on the guidelines and more. Overall, I really enjoyed doing this project.

October Reflection

I would have to say that my favorite thing that we did in October was the Spanish Speaking Tour. This project demonstrates decision making and research fluency. You had to make decisions like where you wanted to go and where you wanted to stay. Then you had to chose what to eat and what activities to do. It ties into research fluency because in this project you had to be able to find the information you need fast and effectively to do well.

I actually learned a lot while doing this project. First off, I learned tons about the countries themselves. I learned about their geography and the culture within. Also, I learned how to book flights and reserve hotel rooms. I also learned about time management. In this project you had to plan your time wisely to do everything you wanted to do. I am most of the fact that I was able to plan my whole trip all within my budget. I got to do all that I wanted in each country and was able to get around. I am really happy with the work that I did on this project. I met all the criteria and stayed within the budget and had fun while doing it.\

Reflection

My favorite unit that we did was Google Sketch Up. Using Google Sketch Up demonstrates creativity. You are able to use your imagination to create pretty much anything you can think of. This program also demonstrates problem solving. You have to know how the program to manipulate your project to do what you want. Google Sketch Up demonstrates these concepts.

In Google Sketch Up I learned how to take an idea and digitally create it. I learned what the different tools within the program do. I learned a lot while using Google Sketch Up. I am most proud of the design of my project. I put a lot of thought into its layout and I think its cool. Over all I am really happy with the project. I think it looks really realistic and I like the fact that I designed it. In conclusion I think that Google Sketch Up was a fun and educational program.

Colorado Texting

I agree with the ban on texting while driving. I do think that it is highly distractive to the driver and takes concentration away from the road. I think that this law will prevent many accidents and save lives. I totally agree to the ban on texting while driving.

What I Have Learned

In the last few weeks we have done many things in tech class. Of all the things we have done my favorite was working in Google Sketch Up. I learned how to design and build all kinds of cool things. I created my own army base with men, tanks, choppers, and barracks. It was fun. Google Sketch up was the coolest thing we have done so far in Tech.
